TAM 114
TAM 114 is a hard red winter wheat variety developed by Texas A & M University and licensed to AGSECO in 2014. TAM 114 has much better leaf disease resistance than either TAM 111 or TAM 112 and is also rated excellent for baking and milling quality. It offers very good levels of protection from leaf rust, stem rust, and stripe rust and good straw strength and very good test weight. TAM 114 is also one of the most drought tolerant varieties available and offers very good winterhardiness. TAM 114 has an intermediate resistance to Hessian fly (75% resistant plants) and good acid soil tolerance. It also has excellent grazing and grain yield potential.

HOT ROD
Hot Rod is a new hard red winter wheat variety developed by Kansas State University and licensed to ACSECO in 2014. It is best adapted to central and eastern Kansas and Oklahoma. Hot Rod was licensed to AGSECO with the stipulation that it could only be marketed as a component of a blend with one or more other varieties. The main concern with Hot Rod is its less than desirable baking quality. Agronomically, Hot Rod is a superior variety. While Hot Rod is rated intermediate on Barley Yellow Dwarf and head scab, it is more resistant than most other commercial varieties. In three years of yield testing, Hot Rod is 10% higher yielding than Everest.

AG GALLANT
AG Gallant is a new AGSECO hard red winter wheat variety released in 2014. It is best adapted to northern and western Kansas and southern Nebraska. AG Gallant offers producers exceptional performance, very good test weight, and very good protein levels. AG Gallant is medium early in maturity and has very good baking and milling quality. It has very good straw strength and very high tillering capacity. AG Gallant does not tolerate acid soil well, which limits its usage in the continuous wheat areas of south central Kansas and north central Oklahoma.

BEYOND© CROP PRODUCTION SYSTEM

AGSECO and BASF have teamed-up to bring the CLEARFIELD® Production System to wheat farmers in Kansas, Oklahoma, Colorado, and Nebraska. This system combines superior genetics, such as the variety Protection, with excellent weed control through Beyond™ herbicide.

This combination of AGSECO wheat varieties and BASF technology provides wheat farmers another management tool in their efforts to maximize grain yields and profit.

Beyond™ herbicide will control or suppress a broad spectrum of weeds, many of which have been previously uncontrollable in wheat production. Difficult weeds such as:

  • jointed goatgrass
  • cheatgrass
  • downy brome
  • hairy chess
  • feral rye
  • volunteer cereals
  • Italian ryegrass

CLEARFIELD® wheat varieties are developed using conventional methods and there are no marketing or export restrictions attached to these varieties.

AGSECO is currently evaluating many new CLEARFIELD® wheat lines and expects to have widely adapted varieties in the near future.
